Personal account of 3 Huckabee Fans who watched the Huckabee TV Show in NY City:

"Our Day in New York City with Mike Huckabee"
I will give a brief re-cap of our day in New York City. We drove to the city this morning from eastern Pennsylvania where our condo is located near Stroudsburg. We finished a series of meetings a couple of days ago near Scranton. Since we were only 80 miles or so from NYC we decided to spend a few extra days since we have not spent much time on the east coast. We had Saturday open so we were able to get tickets for the taping of "Huckabee", Fox News Channel's hottest weekend show. (Thanks to Mike, we were able to get tickets....we found out just today there is usually a 6 month waiting list)
Many people, (including Governor Huckabee) seemed to think we were practically nuts for driving into the heart of Manhattan- but we actually had no real problems. I had scouted out a parking garage our truck would fit into so planning ahead paid off there. We were a little early so we had an early lunch in a deli at the base of the News Corporation Building. A line begins to form in what they call the "breeze way" outside of Fox News. At one point the Governor came outside and saw us in line, came over to get a hug from Wendy and spoke with us several minutes. After he walked away people began to question us like they thought we were some sort of celebrities, it was almost comical. A little later, we noticed Mike's wife, Janet walking in from 6th Avenue. She also saw us and came over to the line. She is not at the taping of very many shows but happened to be at this one since Mother's Day is on Sunday. (Plus, they were to have dinner later tonight with Roger Ailes, Fox News President )
The show taping was very interesting and it all went very smoothly. The segment with Mario Lopez had been taped the night before but they actually taped one whole show and parts of 2 others with this audience. Consequently, we were in the studio longer than normal but got more free gifts such as books, CD's etc. of the guests. Wendy had a blast! During one of the commercials Mike told the audience he had some special guests/friends in the audience he would like to introduce. He mentioned our family first and then joked about how he had spent lots of time in Iowa a couple years ago and the audience laughed. He then introduced his wife, Janet, and a couple with her. The man had been Mike's college room mate and also performed he and Janet's wedding ceremony over 30 years ago.
After taping a number of guests (more than usual due to the extra segments) we were finally free to leave a little after 4 PM EST. ( Before we had entered, all audience members had to go through a pretty rigid security check. It would be an impossibility to get into that building with a weapon of any sort. )
Governor Huckabee had stated at the close of the show he would meet those who wanted to stick around out in the "breeze way" for photos, autographs etc. After most everyone had their photos etc, we were able to get a few, and then surprisingly was able to stand out there for quite some time to speak with him in private. (Which is always interesting) I was able to ask him a number of questions on a variety of subjects . I also joked that we may not have time for too much "sight seeing" because we were just there for the day and that he might be the only "sight" we would be able to see. I also told him I had always wanted my photo taken with Bob Dole. ( He tells the story of how an older lady once thought he was Bob Dole when she saw him at an airport, he says..."I love Bob Dole but he is 85 years old!" :-0

III. Huckabee Fan (Marion d.s. Dreyfus):
1) Approximately how many people were in the studio audience during your visit? - Full audience of 10 seats, 6 tiers, i believe.
2) How long did you have to wait in the line before going into the studio? - I did not wait at all.
3) Were any Mike Huckabee souvenirs available before or after the show to purchase? - I would not know, nor do I buy souvenirs, being a New Yorker and being a journalist and not having room in my apartment for anything except a lug wrench and a sad, overused sofa.
4) Were tickets mailed to you or did you state your name upon arrival? - I came with my name on a list, so got right in
5) Did you have a chance to talk to Mike Huckabee before or after the show? - Yes
6) Were any refreshments offered to the audience? - Certainly: Cosi wraps of salady things, or hammy things, or chicken-salad things, or tuna salad things; tea and coffee; a variety of premium large cookies with chocolate chips and nuts, black/whites/jelly-topped confections and chocolate wedges. Bottles of water.
7) Were you able to tour FoxNews Studio during your visit? - Alas, no tour was offered.
8) Did you receive a free book or gift after the show that featured the guest on the Huckabee show? - Nothing except those Reese's cards from the on-staff snarky comic who is somewhat astringent and egotistical.
9) Would you recommend others to visit the Huckabee Show in NY City? - Certainly, mais oui. Ja. Jawohl. Da. Duei. Nachon. Si si.
10) Were you permitted to take photo's inside the Huckabee TV show studio? - I would not know. I never take photos.
